Landing Example Using Polynomials

The purpose of this course is to develop theoretical and applied skills in optimization and control for spacecraft guidance.

These notes demonstrate how to use polynomials (or splines) to generate trajectories by solving a boundary value problem. The resulting problem is a nonlinear programming problem for the polynomial coefficients and flight time. While it is easy to generate feasible trajectories, we see that care must be taken to ensure that a minimizing solution exists and is realistic.
